Going Green Day 4

Ok, its dinner time, you have just rushed in from work, you are starving, the kids are starving and you have to be back out of the house in 90 mins!!

What can you feed everyone that is going to be nutritious and not collect and moans and groans?

First job spark up the BBQ and defrost the precooked brown rice that you prepared last week

Clean 1 medium sweet potato for each person, place on hotplate and close hood, these will take approx 20 mins

Add what ever protein you prefer – fish, steak, chicken, pork to the bbq – season

Place a selection of vegetables eg broccolini, drained tinned beans, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, carrots, pumpkin on hot plate, season with your favorite herbs and spices and cook until tender and crisp

Place your brown rice on the hotplate – drizzle with olive oil, toss until crisp

Added extras – foil wrapped cheese eg Feta or ricotta wrap in foil, add olive oil and favorite herbs and spices, bbq for a few minutes

– bbq fruit such as pineapple, apple, stone fruit, when warmed through                                    drizzle with organic honey and serve with Greek yoghurt

 

And there you have a fun, nutritious meal to share with the family
